Introducing Our Newest Collection: AQUARELLE!

This collection, aptly named "Aquarelle", combines a delicious color palette with a fresh painting technique that results in soft watercolor illustrations that have a botanical, vintage feel with a nod to today's playful aesthetic.  Our Aquarelles are inspired by nature, botanical prints, children's books and our artist, Angela Driscoll's, German-American upbringing.

Stay tuned for additional designs to surface in this collection, including a new holiday assortment!

Happy New Year!

It's a fresh, new year, a fresh, new start!  There's so much to look forward to and be thankful about.  In this spirit, we want to show off our new, vintage telephone Thank You card.  It's part of our growing new collection of designs that reflect the nostalgia of the 1920's to the early 1960's.  We love them and hope you do too.

Wishing you and yours a happy, healthy new year!

Music to My Ears

Snap, Pop, Scraaatch!  Old, vinyl records have been making a comeback since 2008 and it seems that sales are at its highest for vinyls since 1998.  I remember being awakened to the music of the 1960's via my father's old records.  I'd sit for hours on the living room floor with his records spread across the carpet and I'd stare enamored at the cover and inside of the jackets as I listened carefully.  James Taylor's Sweet Baby James, Creedance Clearwater Revival, Cream, Joan Baez and Judy Collins to name a few.

The first record that I owned, by the way, was Madonna's "Like A Virgin" (as I recall, my grandma gave it to me for my birthday.  Strange choice for a grandma but she knew what the kids liked!)  I stared at that black and white image of Madonna, with her come-hither look oozing from the cover, for hours while listening, .  Good stuff.  CD's never quite held the same kind of captivation for me.  Maybe it was the velvety experience that the records offered or maybe its just childhood nostalgia.  Either way, I hope to see more vinyls reemerge.

A Birthday for Pet Lovers

Our new birthday cards feature the happiest kitten and puppy in the world!  With a hefty fish for kitty and a juicy bone for puppy, these nostalgic designs were created from a mix of our watercolor illustrations and vintage, collaged images. They deliver that the warm, fuzzy (or furry?) feeling that one gets from receiving a sweet, hand-written card.  Just like in the good, ol' days.

Have A High-Flying Day!

Check out our "Special Delivery Vintage Plane" card!   Our new style, created in part with watercolor paint, is reminiscent of the second world war in theme but also illustrated with a bit of the "Mad Men" style in mind.  Inside of card reads:  "Have a high-flying day!"

Just Hitched

My sister has a wedding coming up in August and while I've been busy designing her invitation, bells seem to be tolling throughout the land for many other couples as  well.  One of our most popular wedding cards is a throwback to the late 1800's and early 1900's.  Featuring vintage bride and groom owls, perched high, having their photo taken and surrounded by a sweet, pink scalloped border and beautiful blossoms, it's the ultimate wedding card!  Unique and smart, it'll be the perfect complement to a thoughtful gift.

A Razzle Dazzle Birthday!

I've designed a small, city-specific series of greeting cards which I plan to expand on.  Stylistically, I'm fascinated with the jazz age, hollywood glamour, glitz and anything from the 1920's to the 1950's. I love the color palettes from back then:  the Hollywood pastel décor colors of the 50's especially.  However, there is a separate but similar theme which I'm even more inspired by which encompasses the older, black and white, colorized images with darker contrasts.  Colors in this category are less pastel and heavy on the dark wine/burgundy, plum, deep pine and greyed out teals with dark silver accent.  Here is my modernized interpretation of this look in my new Chicago-themed birthday card.  The inside of this card reads, "Have a razzle-dazzle birthday!"

I have more cards in this style in my Christmas collection!
